“It is a common fact that IoT-based technology is one of the main elements in the deveopment of Smart City which is now getting more attention globally. The same technology and application can also be used to create Smart and Green campus. It is hoped that through this MOU, research and developement work based on IOT specifically for UNITEN can be explored together,” said Dr Asmidar.
Meanwhile Dato’ Wei said, “REDtone IOT is the only company in Malaysia providing Smart City platform. Through the collaboration with UNITEN, we are able to take what we have developed for building smart big cities and scale it down to benefit smaller areas like a campus. .
“This is our first IoT partnership with a university and we excited to see how our joint efforts can help turn UNITEN into a Green & Smart Campus. Both parties will identify and work on projects that will bring about an enhanced environment at the campus for both students and staff. Areas that we will focus on include increasing the level of comfort in lecture halls, making it easy to find a parking spot and to use the campus’ transport facilities as well as to create a green environment by reducing pollution and energy consumption.”
Dr. Mazlan further added, “The CitiSense platform which earlier targeted to be the core and hub for smart city applications has now becoming a core for smart campus applications too. We have a strong and unique platform when we partner with Unified Inbox’s platform with REDtone IOT’s CitiSense. Now you are able to make “Things” talk to students in ther most favorite communications channel i.e. Social Media”
