BATU PAHAT – January 17, 2017. The Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and the REDtone IoT Sdn Bhd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build initially a Research Cluster with the aim to develop a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in UTHM on Internet of Things, also exploring research funds for R&D and provide some form of supervision.
“It’s important to build the interests and competencies in the areas of IoT. There is a growing demand for IoT engineers in the market and Malaysia is still lacking in this area. We need more talents in IoT, and we are happy to see UTHM will use our IoT platform as part of their projects and Lab work, “ said Dr. Mazlan Abbas, CEO REDtone IoT.
Dr. Mazlan received the MOU documents from the Dean of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics, Dr. Afandi Ahmad during his visit and Industrial Advisory (IAP) Meeting in UTHM recently.
During the IAP meeting, Dr. Mazlan was briefed on Fertigation of Chilli using IoT by the project students. Later, a demo was given at the site.
REDtone IoT was named “Malaysia Innovative Smart City Solution Provider of the Year” in 2016 by Frost & Sullivan and also received a Merit recognition in e-Government and Public sector category, APICTA 2016.
