Puchong, Selangor / Taichung, Taiwan – 7 August 2025 – Malaysian IoT platform provider Favoriot Sdn Bhd and Taiwanese sensor innovator Brocere Electronics Co., Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 7 August 2025. The agreement was signed by Favoriot chief executive Dr Mazlan Abbas and Brocere chief executive Daniel Lai at Favoriot’s headquarters in Putra Heights.

The MOU marks the start of a collaboration intended to marry Favoriot’s device‑friendly IoT platform with Brocere’s modular AIoT sensors. Under the arrangement, the companies plan to explore integration of Brocere’s Blockcraft sensors with Favoriot’s cloud‑based platform, develop joint demonstrations and pursue opportunities in smart city and industrial projects. Both organisations will also exchange knowledge to promote smart IoT deployments in Malaysia and the broader ASEAN region.

A meeting of complementary technologies

Brocere specialises in sustainable hardware for industrial and smart‑city monitoring. Its Blockcraft modular IoT sensor is described as the world’s first LEGO‑style AIoT sensor. The sensor’s reusable sensing and communication modules allow it to be customised for different tasks, while optional solar power modules enable outdoor self‑sufficiency. Brocere emphasises that Blockcraft can display the status of its plug‑in modules in real time via a web page and that the modular design eliminates the need to redevelop similar sensors for multiple applications. The device’s architecture enables organisations to repurpose unused sensors for other applications, while optional solar modules enhance sustainability by reducing energy consumption. Brocere uses this technology in disaster prevention, cold‑chain logistics and smart‑city projects and has formed a Blockcraft Alliance to help sensor manufacturers launch modular IoT products.

Favoriot’s IoT Application Enablement Platform (AEP) provides a complementary software backbone. As an AEP, it offers tools for developers to connect and manage devices, collect and process data, build applications with visualisation and rule engines, and enable scalability and user management. Designed for small‑ to medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs), the platform emphasises ease of use and accessibility, making it straightforward for developers with limited technical expertise to deploy IoT solutions. It provides device onboarding, supporting thousands of devices and multiple communication protocols; data ingestion and real-time monitoring; dashboards and visualisation; secure RESTful APIs for integration with third-party systems; multi-tenant architecture; and granular user-role management. Compared with larger competitors, Favoriot focuses on cost‑effective pricing and rapid deployment for SMEs.

Dr Mazlan Abbas expressed optimism that the collaboration would accelerate the adoption of IoT in Malaysia: “Our platform has always emphasised user‑friendly device management and real‑time analytics for SMEs. By combining it with Brocere’s modular Blockcraft sensors, we can rapidly deploy solutions for smart agriculture, energy management and safety.
