Osaka, Japan, 24 April 2025
At the Malaysia Pavilion of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Whatif Solutions Sdn Bhd and Favoriot Sdn Bhd formalised a strategic partnership to accelerate digitalisation efforts in energy efficiency and IoT integration for Malaysian industries. The collaboration, sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) valued at up to RM5 million, marks a significant step towards advancing Malaysia’s green economy and decarbonisation initiatives.

Under this partnership, both companies will combine their strengths—integrating Favoriot’s scalable IoT platform with Whatif’s machine learning-driven energy intelligence and process optimisation solutions. The initiative will focus on helping sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities to drive sustainable improvements through smart technologies.

Pilot deployments will be launched across selected manufacturing plants, industrial parks, and commercial facilities. The collaboration targets the following measurable outcomes:

  • Achieving 10–30% energy savings through AI-driven anomaly detection and equipment runtime optimisation.
  • Delivering real-time predictive analytics and automated alerts to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Providing centralised, AI-powered dashboards for energy managers and facility operators.
  • Enabling better carbon accounting and sustainability reporting through intelligent, transparent analytics.

The partnership directly supports the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) initiatives, aligning with the national agenda to enhance productivity through energy-efficient, technology-enabled practices.

“We’re excited to work with Favoriot to accelerate the development of intelligent, connected systems that turn raw data into actionable insights,” said Alan Liew, Chief Strategy Officer of Whatif Solutions. “This MoU is an important milestone in our journey to build a nationwide ecosystem that empowers industries towards energy sustainability.”

Dr. Mazlan Abbas, Chief Executive Officer of Favoriot, shared, “IoT provides the backbone, but intelligence is the engine that drives impact. Together with Whatif, we aim to deliver AI-powered solutions that make energy management smarter, more predictive, and more sustainable for businesses.”

The signing ceremony at Pavilion Malaysia highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to digital innovation, cross-border collaboration, and the pursuit of a smarter, greener future.
