Alor Gajah, Melaka, 22 June 2023 – In a monumental development within Malaysia’s agricultural sector, University College Agrosains Malaysia (UCAM) and Favoriot have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to bolster agriculture through smart technology. The partnership combines UCAM’s 15 years of experience in agricultural training and education with Favoriot’s prowess in the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart solutions.
Both Puan Hajah Faizatul Akmar binti Dato’ Hisan , CEO of UCAM and Dr. Mazlan Abbas, CEO of Favoriot signed the MOU and witnessed by Ts. Dr. Rossly bin Salleh, COO of UCAM and Dr Gopinath Rao, CTO of Favoriot.
UCAM has been a cornerstone in Malaysian agriculture, focusing on higher education programs in agriculture and plantation for the rural and second-generation smallholder farming communities. This is in line with Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Program which emphasizes high-income generation through specialized agricultural practices.
Favoriot, an esteemed player in the IoT domain, will play a pivotal role in this collaboration. With its expertise in IoT solutions, Favoriot will assist UCAM in integrating cutting-edge technologies within the agricultural sector, particularly in smart agriculture.
The MOU covers a wide spectrum of activities, including training, research and development (R&D), advisory services, and commercialization in the realm of smart agriculture.
This partnership between UCAM and Favoriot is a momentous stride in Malaysia’s agricultural sector and is expected to serve as a model for technological integration in agriculture worldwide.
