In 2014, Malaysia has launched its Malaysia National IoT Strategic Roadmap which intend to propel Malaysia as an IoT hub for the region, create new jobs and become industry’s new source of revenue. Later, in 2018, we launched Industry 4WRD, the National Policy on Industry 4.0 which focused on to transform the manufacturing sector. At the end of 2020, MOSTI also released it’s 10-10 Malaysia Science, Technology, Innovation and Economy (MYSTIE) Framework that will pave the way for the nation to improve its innovative and creative capability as a means of enhancing economic competitiveness and quality of life. And recently, Covid-19 pandemic has given another wake up call to many countries around the world and realise the importance of digital transformation. It has been mentioned again in 2018 Industry 4WRD, IoT remains one of the core technology for Fourth Industrial Revolution. But why the deployment of IoT in Government, Corporate and Industries remained much to be debated? Why is it so difficult for many organisations to start their IoT journey?
